Gear Review | ThinkTank Airport Navigator

written by Beckie of beckiegkengle.com

Today I want to talk about the Think Tank Airport Navigator.

My husband and I don’t get each other gifts for Christmas. What we do instead is each year we pick out one thing that we’d really like and buy it for ourselves. We have done it this way for about 8 years now and it works well for us.

This year my gift to myself was a new gear bag. I needed something a bit larger and more functional than the over-the-shoulder bag I was using. After doing some research on rolling bags, I decided that was the way I wanted to go. But there are so many brands out there to choose from! I asked around and did a lot of research on my own. I decided on getting a Think Tank roller. I wanted something that was small and I could easily maneuver around locally, but also something that would travel well (and fit in the overhead bins on the plane!).
I ended up choosing the newly released Think Tank Airport Navigator!

It is the perfect size for me! It has enough room to carry my current gear (with plenty of room to add on to my lens collection), and also carries my laptop and its cord and mouse! Now I am looking forward to my next trip so I can use it somewhere besides just around town! 😉

It has dual access to your gear (via the front pocket and also has access from the top)! It is the first of its kind! The wheels roll nice and smoothly! The telescoping handle is long enough for the taller photographer. The compartments inside are easily customizable with the velcro dividers! It has dual zippers on each pocket allowing you to lock the two together for extra security. The laptop pocket will hold up to a 15″ laptop (mine is little thicker than a MacBook Pro making it only a tad difficult to zip up). There is a detachable shoulder strap (not pictured) that has a special opening that will allow it to be hooked over the handle of another rolling suitcase.

All in all, this is a great roller, and I am very happy with it!

  1. Beckie,
Love this review! I have the ThinkTank Airport Airstream and love it, but the Navigator is even smaller than the Airstream and would work better for when I don’t need to lug as much gear.
