Everyday Elements Blog

My first official post to the Everyday Elements blog!

For those who know me and my other sites, don’t worry, this will not be another blog to try to keep up with; I am shutting down Moving Forward and Photography Haven. I just cannot manage all of them and as sad as it is to close Moving Forward after blogging there for over two years, I just cannot keep up.

I have moved all of the tutorials from Photography Haven over to this blog so that the information is still accessible. Most of the resource lists have moved over also. Basically I am folding Photography Haven into Everyday Elements, which will make it much easier on me to post and manage.

Everyday Elements has grown dramatically in scope and size, more than I would have imagined in so short of time, due in part to the wonderful support and encouragement I received from Rita at Coffeeshop, Cheryl at TidyMom, Michelle from Love That Shot and Dawn at A Bit Bloggish.

Also, I need to thank many of the enthusiastic attendees I have had: Debra, Cheri, Staci, Jamie, Kathryn, Heather, Kandi, Carol, Sharon, Michelle, Sheri, Jenn, Julie, Leslie, Brenda, Amy, Teresa and many more! You make me laugh and smile during my workshops, you forgive me when I mess up and you encourage me to go further than I would have gone on my own.

What can you expect from this blog? Well, here are my goals:

  • Moving Forward Mondays – personal tidbits about what is going on in my life.
  • Tutorial Tuesdays – tutorials for photography or editing with PSE.
  • Fix It Fridays – my play along with I Heart Face’s Fix It Friday post.
  • Sharing Saturday – sharing a picture or two of my own from the past week.

Some weeks I will make all four post goals, some weeks only a couple and some weeks none. I am trying to be realistic (for a change).

Last thing – I am planning a big giveaway to celebrate the new logo, updated site, newsletter and new blog! It’s not actions, not free workshops, not anything you would expect. Watch for it to start on Wednesday!

p.s. If you have subscribed to the blog, you will see various posts with lists and resources coming through. I am still moving things over from Photography Haven and they will show as new posts in your blog reader, but they are not new.

Your knowledge is what brought me to your site & workshops… And your knowledge combined with your willingness to share, gift of teaching, wonderful spirit & kind heart is what hooked me & keeps me coming back for more. Thanks & Congratulations again!! =]

  9. Thanks for mentioning me! I liked our old header (I call it “our” header, LOL) but of course this one is fabulous. Clean and colorful! You’ve grown so much in such a short amount of time. I’ve said it before but it bears repeating: you hit on a need and filled a niche. Plus, you work really hard, woman! And I know you help so many people!

  10. HI! I was trying so hard to keep up with you and somehow thought I would catch the beggining of your blogging here. Now I have some catching up to do:)

I am looking forward to your posts.
    Yvette

  11. Wonderful post! So much invaluable info. I care for mini australian shepherds in Okeechobee. Aussies are extremely intelligent and playful. They always want to play all day then relax with us all night. We definitely love them.

  12. Awesome post. My Mom really loved it. I read your posts every morning and always will.
