Show Your Skills 10.16.10

Woohoo! Welcome to the second edition of Show Your Skills, a photo editing link-up party I started last week. Most participated at the Facebook fan page for Everyday Elements, but from now I am am going to be holding it here at the blog.

How it works is you simply click on the image to be taken to Flickr, where you download the image and edit it how every you like. After you edit the image, upload it to your blog, Flickr or FB page and link back here.

This week I would love to see what you can do with textures, overlays or photo veils. If you do not own any textures, this PAGE has links to places you can find them free. You do not have to use textures to participate, but I do encourage you to use them. They are a great way to get more creative with an image. If you need help on how to use textures, HERE is a old tutorial I wrote that walks  you through it.

Here are some general rules for Show Your Skills:

  1. If you share your edit, I will visit and give gentle constructive criticism, if needed.
  2. Please share what editing program(s) you used to do your edit.
  3. If you can, share what actions or textures you used.
  4. You do NOT have to/need to use my actions to be able to participate; use whatever you like.
  5. Do not use this image for any commercial gain, do not pass it off as your own image.

  1. Hope you don’t mind, but I put two different links in – I’ve never participated in something like this, so I don’t know if there’s usually any understood “rule” when playing. Let me know if I shouldn’t do it again. Thanks!

  2. Posted on flickr.

  3. Rosemary Morrison says:

oops, delete #9, I uploaded the wrong photo! :blushing:

  4. Oh this looks great….I am gonna participate later today! Is there a deadline to upload? If I miss it I will participate next week.

  5. I still love this idea, one day I will play 🙂

  6. oh, I like the thumbnails too! Good addition.

  7. I can’t get Mr Linky to work so I hope this will do.

  8. Second try…..to get to the right photos 🙂
