Camera Cheat Sheets – Review and Giveaway

GIVEAWAY IS OVER

WINNERS LISTED AT BOTTOM OF POST

This past weekend a sweet new photography friend I have, Jessica, introduced me to a delightful little tool for finding your way around a new camera – CheatSheet by Bert Sirkin.

We were trying to figure out a few things on her rockin’ Canon 5D and I asked her a question, like “where is such and such…” and she breaks out the CheatSheet for that model and I was all amazement. I loved it and we used it over and over during our time together.

I thought I’d share a picture of her CheatSheet from my desk, as we would take pictures of the Coke Zero bottle on my desk. (Everyday Photography past attendees will be glad to see it’s not the same old Diet Mountain Dew bottle or a water bottle).

Jessica brought her camera manual with her as well, but we were able to find the answers faster and easier on the CheatSheet than in her manual. The CheatSheet has information that is practical and necessary for using the camera, put into easy to understand format and well organized sections.

After she left I got on the computer and found out there are CheatSheets for almost all DSLR and upper-end point and shoot cameras!

Where have I been? How did I not know about these? I feel like my head has been in the sand!

Know what I did on Monday? I ordered CheatSheets for my Canon G12, the Nikon D5000, D7000, Canon Rebel T31 and Canon 60D.

These awesome little tools are packed with information front and back, laminated for durability, folds up for travel and are only $10.95 each. Well worth the price!!

Why the CheatSheets for cameras I do not have? Well, so I can help others with their cameras during my photography workshops. It brings me joy to help others learn their camera and these little sheets will help me help them.

Onto the giveaway… I am giving away two CheatSheets to two sweet Everyday Elements readers.

To enter simply tell me the camera you trying to learn and how long you’ve had it. Make sure to leave your comment on this post at the blog, not on Facebook.

  • One entry per person
  • Giveaway ends Sunday, July 31 at 11:00 PM EST
  • Winners chosen via Random.org

Winners have one week to respond to my email after which another winner(s) will be chosen. Once I have received physical addresses from the winners, I will purchase their camera’s CheatSheet at Amazon and ship to them within a week.

I decided to make it THREE winners instead of two since there were so many entries (I’m such a sucker, I know). The winning comment numbers are below, and emails to them have been sent. If you were a winner but have not received an email, check your spam/junk folder please.

#179 Annie, #22 Bridget, #268 BreeAnn

  32. Hi! I have a canon 7d, which i purchased just this past May. I previously had a canon 350D, which i had for 8 yrs. Needless to say, technology has come a long way in just a little bit of time. My old camera was extremly easy to use, and pretty much knew it front and back. The 7D is way more advance, but luckily alot of the features are the same so I picked up on the basics quickly. I am a working wife and mother and just haven’t had a lot of time to dive fully into my new camera, so a free cheatsheet would be awesome!!!-Lisa

  33. Natasha Nicholson says:

  35. I’m trying to learn my Nikon D50. It is actually my husband’s camera and he’s had it for 5 years. I’ve been using it primarily for about 6 months. I’ve learned a little, but there is so much more to learn! These look like great products.

  36. Love this! Have been working to master my 7D since September and like to think that I am doing a good job but there is always room to grow!
