For those who don’t know her, Kim Klassen is a very talented photographer, editor, trainer and texture creator. She has built an extensive “library” of textures and recipes, which she shares at her site, Kim Klassen Cafe. Her textures are gorgeous and each Friday she shares a free one via her newsletter (so if you don’t subscribe, run do that now).

Just recently Kim debuted her Recipe Book of 30 Photoshop recipes for adding textures to images. since I discovered textures 3 months ago I use them several times a week, on about half of the photos I do things to
I absolutely love textures. I try to use them daily. I love the vintage look and feel they lend to photographs.
I take a lot of pictures for a lot of different purposes, so while I love textures, I tend to use them sparingly, when I want an “artsy” look. Maybe weekly… one out of 50 photos. Of course, I’m self taught and don’t know much so maybe with the Recipe Book I would be inclined to use textures a lot more! I’m open and love to learn new stuff!
