Moving Forward Monday

Welcome to Moving Forward Monday, a post I dedicate to sharing a picture or two, sharing what is going on in my life or new things coming up for Everyday Elements.

What have I been up to? Well, homeschooling at home and our homeschool classes, Classical Conversations. We also had Chess Club, which I run. Little League football is over so the boy started back with Karate, and Georgia, my 7 year old daughter, was signed up also. So, we have three “Kung Fu Masters” in our home now. I think I need to move all the lamps and picture frames up; they’re in jeopardy with all the “hi-ya” kicks being practiced. 😉

As for Everyday Elements, last week I held two private editing workshops, the group Beginners and the group Everyday Photography workshops. I had fun with all of them and hope the attendees did too, and that they learned a bunch, of course. There has been some requests for another Everyday Photography, and I will be doing one at the beginning of December.

What is happening at Everyday Elements this week:

  • Giveaway from FotoTale Designs ends tomorrow night at 11:00 PM EST. Her templates are wonderful and she’s giving away THREE gift cards, so be sure to enter.
  • Collages & Clipping Mask workshop on November 11th. If you purchase something from Fototale Designs, you get a discount on the workshop, making it $13, instead of $20. The workshop includes some free templates from me and a set of five digital papers from Dawn by Design.
  • November’s newletter will be released tomorrow, so be sure to sign up for it. Included in the newsletter will be a new workshop I am collaborating on with someone very special, a workspace tip, an alumni showcase, a free new action and more. To sign up for the newsletter, go here.
  • Show Your Skills – The new editing link-up party was posted Saturday, and I shared a picture from the shoot with my niece and her cello. You can edit it however you like, with or without actions (from me or others) and receive feedback from me. Two people who participate (and link up) will win gift cards to Isabelle LaFront’s shop.

Any big events happen for you last week or coming up this week? If you shared about it on a blog or Flickr, link to it and I’ll pop over and visit. Or, do you have a picture from last week that you love and want to brag about? Link to it too and I’ll go “ooh and aww” over it.

The image I shared above was from a nature walk with my family a couple of weeks ago. I found it in my picture folder and thought it had potential. I did a Levels adjustment and added a photo filter, then added a photo veil from Love That Shot and two of my own textures.

I linked up this post with Robin’s Mingle Monday party at Add a Pinch, a great blog about cooking, homeschooling, travel and more.

Amanda, I say this all the time…how do you do it all?!! 🙂 So many exciting things for your family, kids and EE. I keep wanting to take more workshops but the 5-8 hour is so difficult for me with my kids sports and activities schedules. I’ll figure it out! New with me…I ran a half marathon this past weekend. Of course all I have to document it is from my phone. I think I’ll run an action on that picture! 🙂
