Action edit using “Virginia” and “Make Matte”

written by Beckie of beckiegkengle.com

It’s been a little while since I’ve done a post with an action edit. Today I chose to use “Virginia” and Amanda’s new “Make Matte”. In this post, I’ll tell you how I got from my SOOC image to my final edit!

I first ran Deep Clean 1 & 2, and made my adjustments, and then saved my clean edit. (please forgive me, I forgot to do screen shots of each step)

Then I ran Virginia (from the “Coast to Coast” action set). The only thing I adjusted was to turn off the “water” layer, and then I set the “lighten up” layer to 26%. I then flattened, and saved that version.

I hadn’t yet gotten to try Amanda’s “Make Matte” action, and I love the matte look, so I ran it on this image and dropped the opacity to 52%.

I love the final result! As you can tell from the before & after, the difference is subtle. But sometimes those subtle changes are all that you need! 🙂
