Free Photoshop Elements Action Giveaway ~ Celebrating the EE Facebook Community

***Editing to add that this action was a gift to Facebook and blog readers but has since been removed as a free action. It is now available as part of the Coast to Coast Action Set, a set of 14 creative actions. ***

Have you been to Everyday Elements’ Facebook fan page? It is a place to ask questions, share struggles, successes, pictures,  links and more. I cannot tell you how very appreciative I am for the wonderful friends I have met at that page. I started it in June as a way for people to ask me questions regarding the workshops but it quickly turned into much more.

Right now over 2000 people feel Everyday Element’s page is worth following and that boggles my mind! And, what is better is that I have so many wonderful people who help fellow Photoshop Elements users by answering questions when I am away, by giving tips and tricks which we all benefit from and much more! It warms my heart when I see others taking time to share what they know and to help others.

So, to celebrate our wonderful little Facebook family, I am giving away an action I named Yonkers, which provides a nice boost to the colors, brightness, contrast and warmth to a picture. Why “Yonkers?” Honestly, the name makes me smile and so does the FB page, so I thought it fit. 😉

If you have taken any of my workshops, you know that I preach “Do a clean edit, then run creative actions!!” Well, I actually designed* for this one to be run on SOOC images (as long as there is not major trouble with the picture, in which I would say go do a clean edit and then come back). I know that many people are busy and they don’t have time to do clean edits on every image, plus play with actions, so I made one that would do a little of both.

*Yonkers can be run on clean edits also, you just may need to turn on the Tad Darker layer to make it less bright.

Below is an example of Yonkers on a past summer picture. I ran the group version and simply pulled the layer opacity of the group down to 81%. I turned on a few of the optional layers and that was ALL I did to the picture.

I created two version of Yonkers, an open layers one and a grouped layers one. I am lazy and enjoy using most actions as a group, so I can just reduce the opacity of one layer. Now, if  you are the opposite and love all the control, you can use the open layers version.

**There are four layers that are turned off, which you need to turn on when/if you need them.

If you would like to download Yonkers, click HERE. The download will only be good through Monday morning. If you have trouble with MediaFire not downloading, leave a comment stating such and I’ll email it to you.

** Since I have a guest post at Coffeeshop this week, I am extending this giveaway until Thursday, January 14th.

Below is another example of Yonkers and what group opacity and extra layers I used.
