Get in The Picture Link Up

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends! We had a nice time with my husband’s family, who gathered at our home for a mid-day meal. The picture above was captured towards the end of our “feast” and includes all of my husband’s family except his youngest sister, who did not get to my house until later in the day.

As you might have already thought to yourself, the picture above is not perfect, has lots of flaws, but for this tired mom who had done nothing but clean and cook for 36 hours, I did not have the energy to nitpick over the details. It was a challenge to get all the little and big people to all be seen (some of the big people weren’t overjoyed to be having their picture taken but I told them to suck it up).

But I got a picture, with me in it, and one that is a great representation of our day together.

Were you able to capture a family/friend snapshot – with YOU in the picture? If not, you still have time. Set your camera on a table, shelf, tripod, whatever it takes, set the time and capture a quick picture.

  1. Amanda, I was SO inspired by your post earlier this week! I think we have a new tradition, thanks to you. You’re right, I’m never in the holiday photos, and it’s about time I get in them. I wrote a long blog post about it yesterday to try to spread the word. 🙂

  2. Thanks Amanda for putting it in my head that I need to be in family photos, not just the one behind the camera all the time. 🙂 Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Now getting ready to put up our tree.

  3. Great family picture! Looks like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
We have been taking one at Thanksgiving time for a couple years now and we include the cats. They put up with it because they know they’re going to get a treat.

  4. Looks like a good time was had by all!

  5. Looks like fun times. I didn’t get anything like this during holiday ’cause there really wasn’t anyone around at our dinner. But love everyone else’s pics 😀

  6. I love the natural pose around the table, Amanda. I have learned so much from your blog and appreciate all you do!

  7. So excited to see this… I was SO PROUD of myself for getting everything set up and IN the picture!! Glad I’m not the only one!
