This week I shared five things to know about memory cards at Tech Your Way, with tips for buying and using them. I thought it would be fun to share with you which card is my favorite AND give one away!
I started out using Sans Disk cards but switched over to using Lexar soon after. Why? I am not sure why, quite honestly. Lexar seemed to be the ones more professional photographers used, so I simply followed the leader. Sad, but true.
All that said, I have yet to have a Lexar card fail (be corrupted) and I’m always pleased with the write time (how long it takes the image to be saved to the memory card in your camera).
I am currently in Charlotte, NC, for my third and final trip in just four weeks! It has been very hard to keep up with posting this month, so doing a giveaway will help alleviate my guilt and hopefully make someone a happy photographer/enthusiast.
What is the prize? Either a Lexar 8 GB CF card or a Lexar 8 GB SD card (depends on winner’s camera). GIVEAWAY IS OVER.
Congratulations to Hope, who had winning comment number #48!

I own three. All San Disks. 🙂
I think I am up to 10 now. I am going to have to start over though, because I am upgrading my camera and it takes cf not sd cards. Bummer
I only own one right now so this would be great for me!!
I have a couple of San Disks, and about a dozen Lexar cards. They are great cards!
I have two that I got with my camera (D40) many years ago. Oh, and one Eye-Fi that is seldom used.
My CF is SanDisk, but I would love to have a Lexar. Thanks so much for the chance!
I own 3 memory cards, a 2gb, a 4gb and an 8gb… I think they are san disks… can’t remember lol. Anyhoo, wouldn’t it be nice if there were memory cards for our personal memory?… heehee
I’ve got about 10 cards – most are all different but don’t think I’ve had a Lexar yet. Loved your post on the five tips…….need to remember to reformat and not clear the card on the pc (didn’t know that before).
I have 4 and they constantly get reformatted. My 8 GB one went through the washer and still works, but I fear it’ll fail on me!
I have 4 right now
I have 2 but only 1 that I use regularly b/c it is larger and holds more now that I started shooting raw.
I have two CF cards.
I own two.
I have two.
I have 4 disks but I need a new one for my 2 week trip to Italy!
I have 3.
I own three.
I have 2 – one very, very old but still processing pictures! One newer. Time for a new one! (by the one, I’m working hard on my PSE with help from your PSE from scratches Guide – learning lots! Tks so much!)
I own 4 memory cards. My son once hidden ALL of them after breaking into my camera bag once and I forgot to check on my cards since I was more worried about camera and lenses. I found his stash of MY memory cards in my heat vent! He showed me where they were after a month of driving myself crazy and said “Mom, I didn’t want you to lose them!”
I only have one SD card, seems to work fine, but I think something goes wrong when I put it into my computer. I have to make sure that I save all of the photos I want from the card before I remove it because sometimes they’re lost once I put the card back in my camera. Thanks for the opportunity!
I have a few SanDisk CF cards, but have always wondered about the Lexar cards. Too chicken to try one 🙂
I own four SD cards, that’s it.
I’m a “momtographer” and sadley I have only one memory card. LOVE your blog! Thanks!
I own two
I just bought a D300 and I HAD to buy the CompactFlash cards. I now have 3 of them (one arriving last night). I also have a D40 & 90 and I have at least 15 of the SD Cards.
I certainly wish I had known this info before I ordered my newest CF card. Oh, well, Maybe I will win this giveaway and totally love the Lexars.
PS all of mine at Sandisc.
I have six. The Lexars are my fave too.
Only one 🙂
I own four. Two 8 GB and two 4 GB. Though I only use the two 8GB with my nice camera and the other two are in my point and shoot cameras. Thanks for the giveaway!
I have two compact flash cards. Both are SanDisk.
Thanks for the giveaway! I own 4 cards, all SanDisk. A 16 GB and a 4 GB, for client shoots. A 1GB that is ONLY for emergencies, bc it’s so small and it acts wonky at times. And a 2 GB that I keep in my point and shoot. I’d love an 8 GB to rotate with my 4 GB and I could use one strictly for personal photos.
I use both CF and SD cards in my Olympus E-5….great disks and work like a dream.
I have 2 at the moment.
I have two slots in my D7000 so I have two cards. 🙂 Would love a new one for my point and shoot! XO
Blessings!
Just 2 :(.
Haven’t tried this one yet!
I own 2 and they are both Sandisk, but I’ve had my eye on Lexar for awhile and would love to win one 🙂
I own 2 memory cards and will be needing a third one very soon!
Only have two…….. 🙁
We own 4, but only 2 are really big enough to be useful.
I own 4. The more the better.
I have 2 for my Canon 7D – one is my backup -a generic 4gb that I bought used with the camera which I also bought used – and one is a Lexar. =)
I have 8, a mix of Lexar and SanDisk
I own 2, but only use 1 – the other isn’t formatted correctly!
I have 2 Scandisks.
We have at least 12, as best as I can calculate. There is at least 1 for each camera (6), 1 for each phone (2), 1 for our FlipPal scanner, 1 for our GPS unit, and 1 for each notebook computer (2). The high speed cards are great for the cameras.
Thank you. I think you have a great site.
I only own 1 so far- Sans Disk. 🙂
I currently own exactly two SanDisk 8G memory cards that my husband bought to go with my very first DSLR two Christmases ago. 🙂
I have 3 cards. ( One 8 GB and Two 2GB)
Congratulations, Hope! The winning number was #48 and that’s you!! I’m sending an email your way so be on the look out.
thank you sooooo much! just got it! yayay!
I have 2 cards. My largest one recently became corrupted and only works in my husband’s computer (not mine), which renders it useless actually.
I have 2 lexar that I use in my DSRL, 1 for my point and shoot, 1 for UW camera and 2 spares… along with 2 (micro)sd Lexar cards… so total of at least 8 SD card and 5 of them are Lexar
