Using Blog Collages to Tell a Story

written by Beckie of beckiegkengle.com

I love collages! It’s one of the best ways to tell a story with your images! Displaying a few images bundled together in a collage can convey a different emotion or message than those same few images if they were displayed separately.

It’s also a really fun way to show a series of images! For example, a start-to-finish of the bride and groom feeding each other the wedding cake, or a child lost in their own little world of imagination!

Or to display a handful of your favorite cell phone snappies!

Collages are very easy to use! The free template download that I have included in this post (there are actually 4 in the file) will show you just how easy they are (If you’ve never used templates before, they’re pretty much a drag-n-drop)! The hardest part is choosing the images that you want to use! πŸ™‚

Click HERE to download your free .psd collage template (compatible with CS# and PSE# only). And if you have any questions on how to use the template, feel free to leave a comment here or send me an email at beckie{at}beckiegkengle{dot}com!

Just returned from a vacation with many pictures to look through. This template will come in handy, thank you!

  3. Thanks for these Beckie!! I’m a collage junkie! lol

so I have one question that drives me insane with PS and collages – you can’t see a thumbnail of the collage, so when I want to use a collage I have to open them in CS5 before I can see what the collage looks like, and this can be very time consuming if you have a lot of collage templates (cough cough) – any tips?

    • I love collages too! And oh my goodness, that drives me crazy too! I’ve yet to figure out a way to create a thumbnail, unless I make a jpg with the matching collage name that is in the same folder so I can get a quick glance. Maybe that will help you? If I ever figure out a better way, I’ll be sure to let you know! πŸ™‚

Hello, I tried to download these cool templates, but ran into the problem that it wants to install a program first. Is there somewhere another option to download this without having to install a special wizzard etc? Please let me know. Thanks so much.

Thank you for the Collages template. I downloaded them and would appreciate instructions on how to install them into PSE or Photoshop CS6. Thank you so much for these! I’ve been wanting to create some for my scrapbook!!

    • Hi, Pat! I hope you enjoy the templates! They don’t actually get installed into PS or PSE, you actually just drag and drop them like you would a jpg image. If you need any more help, please feel free to send me an email at Beckie{at}beckieGkengle{dot}com! πŸ™‚

  15. Right here is the right web site for anyone who really wants
to understand this topic. You know so much its almost
tough to argue with you (not that I personally would want
to…HaHa). You definitely put a fresh spin on a topic which has been discussed for many years.
    Great stuff, just excellent!
