A Special Interview and New Photoshop Elements Workshop

Two exciting things are happening for me this week and I wanted to share them with you. Yes, they are totally unrelated but I will tie them together, have faith! 😉

Moms Who Click

Last month I was contacted by Moms Who Click about doing an interview with me. I was shocked, floored, scared and incredibly honored. I did not expect anything like that to come my way and was very nervous about doing it. I agreed to do it, thinking that if nothing else it would be a growing experience for me.

You may not know that about me, but I really do not like being in the spot light. I hate birthday parties and honestly, it was a miracle I was a bride in a wedding. I do not have trouble with being a speaker or presenter, so it is not a shyness issue, I just do not do well with the “you are special” kind of attention.

I have been featured before, but more like a “hey, this lady is a vendor” kind of thing. However, the feature at Moms Who Click was on ME. My photography, my background, me. Yikes, that is way out of my comfort zone. Not that I am super private, because I am not, I just do not like being the center of attention.

Okay….now that I have driven that home (or to death), you’re probably wondering why I am putting even more light on the feature by posting about it here? I don’t know. LOL No, I do know. These ladies have done a lot of work and gone through a lot of trouble to do this and I want to recognize that. Also, like I said, maybe it will be a growing experience for me. I am old enough to know that you are never too old to grow.

They sent me a long questionnaire to work through and asked for several pictures. I do not know what will make the feature or not, so it will be a nice surprise for me. I’m praying they can make me look and sound better than I am. Head over to Moms Who Click to read the interview.

Now on to the unrelated but related new workshop announcement….

Rock the Shot

I was approached by the founders of Rock the Shot about doing a Photoshop Elements workshop for their members and it was another one of those “I’m honored but scared” moments for me. Gosh, that my editing tips, tutorials and workshops would be thought well enough of for them to ask me, what an honor! Thank you for the vote of confidence Rock the Shot, and I am going to work hard to rise to the challenge.

The workshop is Clean Edit Workflow in PSE. It is a live, 2 hour workshop that dives right into photo editing in PSE (and includes my six Clean Edit Workflow lessons, a $30 value). I do not work through the workspace, tools, palettes, menus, etc as I do in the Beginners workshop. Instead I just get right to editing.

FAQ: What is a clean edit? A clean edit is doing some minor adjustments to bring the picture to the best it can be, as if it came out of the camera that way. Clean edits should not have people think “Wow! They really Photoshopped that one!”

Who would benefit from this workshop? Those who have already taken my Beginners (but not the Intermediate) will get a lot out of it as well as those who have used books and online tutorials to teach themselves. This workshop will give them a good workflow to base their editing on and give their images a nice, clean edit.

You can find out more about the workshop at Rock the Shot blog.
